Diet: Carnivorous bottom-feeder; does best on quality sinking sturgeon pellets, crustaceans, mollusks, insect larvae, and other protein-rich foods.
Adult Size: Commonly reaches about 145 cm (57 in), with exceptional specimens reported up to 200–236 cm (79–93 in) and 65–115 kg (143–254 lb).
Recommended Tank Size: Best suited for a large, deep, cool, well-oxygenated pond or system.
Compatibility: Peaceful with other coldwater, non-aggressive pond fish and other sturgeon in properly sized systems; avoid aggressive fish, warm-water species, and fish small enough to be swallowed.
